Our mission is to support the academic success, social-emotional growth, and future readiness of every student. Through classroom lessons, small groups, individual check-ins, and schoolwide initatives, we partner with families, staff, and the community to make sure all students feel safe, connected and ready to learn.

Hello! My name is Samantha Calais, Ed.S., and I am honored to serve as the school counselor at Eastside Elementary School. I believe all students can succeed when they feel supported, valued, and empowered.

What I Do
- Classroom Lessons: Social-emotional skills, friendship, bullying prevention, study skills, and career awareness.
- Small Groups: Friendship skills, understanding our emotions, anxiety, test anxiety, social skills, responsible decision-making, grief support.
- Individual Support: Short-term counseling, check-ins, and goal setting.
- 504 Coordination: Helping students receieve accommodations to support learning.
- Schoolwide Programs: PBIS to help build a positive school culture.
Referrals
Students, families, and staff can all refer a student for counseling support.

For Students: Calming strategies, problem-solving steps, friendship tips, and career exploration.
For Families: Community support (food, housing, mental health).
For Staff: Referral process, classroom SEL lessons, and Tier 1-3 supports.
